Commissioning during Covid-19 outbreak
KONČAR is committed to safeguarding health and wellbeing of our employees, customers, partners and the community. In response to the current public health crises, we have aligned our business operations to ensure safety and uninterrupted timely delivery of our products and services.
In February and March 2020, employees of the Department for Excitation Systems at KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics participated in remote commissioning of voltage regulators delivered to France and Australia.
The first project was a delivery of a digital voltage regulator KONreg S1000 to a French shipping company. Engineers from Zagreb with their colleagues in Marseilles successfully commissioned a voltage regulator that was delivered as a backup to the existing regulators. The entire project was carried out and completed online.
The second project included remote assistance in the commissioning of KONČAR’s excitation system KONreg EX1000, delivered to the Royal Australian Navy in Perth, Australia. Our partners from the UK who integrated KONČAR’s equipment into the final product were physically present in Australia, while our engineers in Zagreb used a remote connection system to connect directly to the regulator. The system was successfully commissioned despite the time difference.
Both projects highlight the future direction for this type of operations and indicate that it will not be necessary to physically attend the commissioning of each product or system.
