KONPRO 2 project successfully concludes with final presentation
At today’s closing presentation of the four-year KONPRO 2: Development of a New Generation of Numerical Protection Devices project, project manager Blaženka Brkljač, alongside team members Marko Bišćan and Mr. Nikica Mikulandra, summarized the research phases and presented the project’s key accomplishments.
The project, valued at 16.3 million HRK, was conducted in partnership with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb. KONPRO 2 is part of a wider initiative aimed at developing an advanced platform for microprocessor-based embedded systems focused on regulation, protection, and control in the power sector.
The platform’s design is based on distributed modular hardware and software functions, seamlessly integrated into a unified system via communication protocols. The flexibility of this platform enhances its technical and economic appeal, allowing for future development of similar devices for process control and regulation in power systems. The project culminated in the creation of the RFX 743 numerical protection relay, an advanced protection, measurement, and control system for power facilities. The relay features new functionalities and improved integration of existing technologies, greatly expanding its range of applications. This development is expected to boost the product’s competitiveness and support the growth of our market share in this sector.
Additionally, the HAMAC BICRO implementing body issued its final report on July 6, 2022, affirming the successful completion of the project.
