Excitation systems successfully commissioned in Morocco

We have successfully completed on-site testing and commissioning of the excitation systems at the Daourat and Al Massira hydropower plants in Morocco.

Due to insufficient water levels at Al Massira, testing with the generator in operation was postponed and will be conducted once conditions allow.

Our contract with Office National de l'Électricité et de l'Eau Potable – Branche Electricité (ONEE) included the delivery of four static excitation systems.

While the systems were tested and delivered in 2019, the pandemic and unfavorable conditions delayed on-site work until late 2022.

The systems are critical for the two plants: Al Massira, which has two 64 MW units and has been in operation since 1980, and Daourat, with two 8.5 MW units that have been operational since 1950.

Beyond electricity generation, both facilities play a key role in providing water for agricultural irrigation. We plan to complete the final commissioning at Al Massira by year-end, pending improved conditions.
