Excitation system training for Tanzanian hydropower personnel
We recently hosted an advanced training session on excitation systems for representatives from the Kidatu Hydropower Plant.
This hydropower plant from southern Tanzania operates four synchronous generators with a combined capacity of 204 MW. The training aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the operational principles behind digital excitation systems and explore the full capabilities of KONČAR's systems.
The program consisted of two main sections. The first covered theoretical knowledge in a classroom setting, while the second focused on practical demonstrations. The hands-on training was delivered using a custom-designed test bench simulating a real excitation system, featuring a digital voltage regulator, touch panel interface, and a power section with a thyristor bridge simulating rotor dynamics.
This hands-on training format allows us to gain insights into the specific challenges faced by our customers while also reinforcing business relationships and fostering continued collaboration.
