Powering the future: launching our first photovoltaic power plant at 2022 close
Just as the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day, we believe that this new year will be marked by its promising start. We are delighted to share the news that our first photovoltaic power plant was deployed at the end of 2022.
The use of renewable energy sources and investment in energy efficiency are foundational to the European Green Deal's goal of achieving climate neutrality. We are committed to making a tangible contribution through our investments in the green economy and the sustainable energy transition, moving towards a low-carbon economy.
In 2022, we achieved several milestones that reflect our commitment to sustainability. Our first medium power transformer received a Carbon Footprint of Products (CFP) verification certificate, enabling us to calculate and reduce the carbon footprint of our other products according to ISO 14067 standards. This follows our initial verifications for distribution transformers issued back in 2019. At the end of 2022, we also completed and launched a 1.1 MW photovoltaic power plant.
This new power plant features 4,266 modules installed on our factory roofs, expected to produce 1,456.16 MWh of electricity annually. Impressively, over 7,000 square meters of roof area are covered with panels. The electricity generated will cover approximately 30-35% of our power consumption.
In addition to reducing operational costs, this project is estimated to cut our CO2 emissions by approximately 30-35%, equivalent to 480,532.80 kg of CO2 annually.
