In partnership with an Austrian turbine partner we delivered four synchronous generators to an American customer in 2020. The generators feature non-contact excitation system and other associated equipment for the needs of Madison Dam SHPP in Montana, USA. In addition to four 4,100 kVA, 4,000 V, 300 rpm generators, the scope of work also included associated excitation systems, automatic bearing lubrication systems and generator grounding.

The end-customer is a South Dakota-based legacy company operating across three federal states, with a diverse generation fleet, and transmission and distribution services. We readily responded to the challenging technical specifics and demands of the end-customer.

Supervision over the commissioning of the first generator was completed in December 2021, while the last G4 was successfully brought online in March 2022. 

The inaugural delivery and commissioning of compact generators in the US market is another great achievement for KONČAR.
