He graduated in 2008 from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Zagreb. Further enhancing his leadership skills, he completed the Senior Leadership Program (SLP) at the IEDC - Bled School of Management, which focuses on effective leadership practices and transformative progress in business organizations.

Since 2020, he has served as an external lecturer for the course Materials and Processes in Transformer Production, a key component of the specialized study program in Transformers at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.

Petar began his professional journey in 2008 at KONČAR - Distribution and Special Transformers (D&ST), where he was instrumental in budgeting and drafting technical documentation for mechanical structures within the Technical Office department. In 2013, he transitioned to the Sales department as an Area Sales Manager.  By 2015, he advanced to the role of Director of Distribution Transformer Production. In early 2018, he was appointed a Board Member of D&ST, leading efforts in business development, product innovation, production optimization, marketing, investments, and maintenance. In April 2021, he took on the vital role of Board Member overseeing the Medium Power Transformer Profit Centre. In January 2024, Petar was appointed as a Board Member of KONČAR Inc., marking another significant milestone in his distinguished career.
