KONČAR today hosted a working meeting at the premises of KONČAR – Distribution and Special Transformers with Nataša Mikuš Žigman, Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds of the Republic of Croatia, and Marija Vučković, Minister of Environmental Protection and Green Transition of the Republic of Croatia. The meeting was followed by a tour of the company’s manufacturing facilities.

The discussions focused on the operations of the KONČAR Group, plans for further technological and business development, the continuation of its investment cycle, green transition and decarbonisation projects, as well as technological solutions through which KONČAR contributes to the development of energy infrastructure and industrial competitiveness. The participants also reviewed initiatives aimed at fostering innovation within the framework of ongoing EU-funded projects. These topics were presented by Gordan Kolak, President of the Management Board of KONČAR, together with Management Board Members Ivan Paić and Petar Bobek.

Given the strategic importance of power transmission and distribution for the capacity, stability and resilience of both European and global power systems, representatives of KONČAR – Distribution and Special Transformers (KONČAR – D&ST) and KONČAR – Instrument Transformers delivered dedicated presentations. As leading members of the KONČAR Group and key representatives of Croatia’s industrial sector in this field, the companies presented their operations, development plans and contributions to the energy sector.

The core business activities of KONČAR – D&ST, its sustainability-driven innovations and ongoing capacity expansion projects were presented by Vanja Burul, President of the Management Board, Management Board Members Dominik Trstoglavec and Kristina Dimitrov, and Špiro Cimera, Chief Project Manager responsible for the construction of the company’s new manufacturing facility.

The presentation by KONČAR – Instrument Transformers highlighted the company’s specialised expertise, technological capabilities, major development projects and its role in strengthening the international visibility and competitiveness of Croatian industry. The presentation was delivered by Davor Baković, President of the Management Board, and Duje Milić, Chief Project Manager overseeing the construction of the new manufacturing facility.

Following the presentations, participants discussed current challenges and opportunities related to the development of Croatian industry, the energy transition and strengthening competitiveness in the European market. The visit concluded with a tour of the manufacturing facilities and testing station of KONČAR – D&ST.
