Successful completion of 35 kV substation for Koljane solar power plant

At the start of September 2023, we completed the construction of a 35 kV substation connecting the Koljane Solar Power Plant (SE Koljane) to the grid. This milestone project, delivered for HEP – Distribution System Operator, demonstrates our capability to deliver cutting-edge energy solutions.

As our first turnkey contract following the acquisition of KONČAR – Electric Devices, this project involved designing and building a primary distribution substation from start to finish. Its successful completion strengthens our expertise and credentials for future high-profile projects.

The scope of work covered every stage, from developing the detailed execution project to constructing the interface substation, connecting it to the 35 kV distribution grid, and delivering and installing 35 kV switchgear, auxiliary power systems (400/230 V, 50 Hz, and 48 V DC), and a station service transformer. Additionally, the substation was integrated into the remote control system (SDV), with protection parameters fine-tuned and signal exchanges established with SE Koljane.

In delivering this project, we collaborated with KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics and KONČAR – Distribution and Special Transformers, showcasing the strength of our collective expertise.

Beyond the substation, we also played a key role in constructing the Koljane Solar Power Plant itself. For the private investor, we supplied three transformer substations (35/0.8 kV, 2500 kVA each). Spanning 13 hectares near Peruča Lake in the city of Vrlika, the solar plant boasts an installed capacity of 8593 kWp and an impressive annual output of 11.5 GWh - enough to power approximately 3,000 households every year.
