From Substation BCN, the site's electrical network operates at voltage levels of 30 kV and 5 kV, with 5 kV distributed via sixteen substations (5.25/0.4 kV), including BCN.

Recognizing the need to modernize the aging infrastructure, the HEM project initiated the replacement of the existing BCN substation with a new, state-of-the-art TS 2x800 kVA. This upgraded substation will feature advanced medium-voltage switchgear (six fields – VDA Sigma) and low-voltage switchgear (rated current 2500 A), both equipped with enhanced monitoring and control devices to enable advanced functionalities critical for microgrid deployment.

With expanded dimensions of 7.5 m x 5.5 m, the new BCN substation is designed to accommodate future upgrades and expansions, paving the way for a more resilient and adaptable microgrid solution.
