International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Today, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we reaffirm the importance of standing behind organizations and initiatives that strive to break barriers, build awareness, and ensure equal opportunities for persons with disabilities to enjoy full inclusion and participate fully in society.

For years, we have proudly partnered with URIHO, the Institution for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities.

Our dedication extends through donations and sponsorships, supporting a wide range of organizations dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and addressing developmental challenges.

Building on our longstanding commitment to inclusion, we have also deepened our collaboration with the Croatian Association for Guide Dog Training and Mobility. Our sponsorship now supports the training of an assistance dog, soon to make a transformative impact on the life of an individual with developmental challenges.

To help the Association tackle an increased demand, we have supported the education of additional staff. This is particularly urgent, as 23 applications were submitted in September and October alone - far outpacing their yearly capacity to train and assign assistance dogs.

To mark this special occasion, we’re excited to share the inspiring journey of Bella, Loki, and Pago - three exceptional dogs in the socialization phase of their training. During the Interliber Book Fair (November 12–17, 2024), these extraordinary dogs practiced their social skills while captivating visitors as true ambassadors of the Association. Their presence showcased the profound impact they will soon have on individuals with disabilities. Our visit to Interliber revealed a charming moment where Bella appeared to be enjoying a book herself!

As we honour the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we encourage you to take part in the ongoing Help Me DREAM crowdfunding campaign organized by the Association. Every bit of support brings us closer to our goal.
