HEP data centre infrastructure automation
Automation of data centre infrastructure at Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP)
HEP has launched an extensive initiative to automate its data centre infrastructure. This project is geared towards multiple strategic objectives: enhancing IT system functionality, streamlining operations, boosting process efficiency, and improving the performance of business-critical systems. It aims to foster greater homogeneity and synergy among the various IT teams, promoting a unified IT management approach across the organization.
Analytical Platform for Traffic Monitoring and Analysis
A pivotal element of this initiative, this platform meticulously monitors and analyzes server traffic within HEP's data centres, improving visibility of network interactions and enabling sophisticated application behaviour-based segmentation. It supports the deployment and optimal functioning of business applications across dispersed data centres, enhancing system robustness, availability, and reliability for end-users.
Additionally, it centralizes policy control and management across all data centres, coordinating communication between various application components. An essential outcome from the initial phase is the platform's capability to offer detailed insights into application performance within HEP’s operational environment, identifying critical data flows necessary for application functionality and enabling autonomous management of these flows and their components.
Platform for critical applications performance monitoring
The project's second phase focused on enhancing the monitoring and management of critical business transactions through a dedicated platform designed to oversee the performance of critical business applications.
This platform manages complex and distributed applications that are vital to business transactions. Easy to configure and deploy, it automatically detects business transactions, utilizes minimal computational resources, and provides proactive performance assessments. This ensures quick resolution of performance issues before they impact users or business operations, thus significantly improving user experience, reducing business interruptions, and achieving considerable savings in operational costs.
