Modernization of public lighting

This project has successfully replaced over 4,000 outdated fixtures in Omiš with advanced, eco-friendly LED lights that are free of heavy metals. This upgrade aligns the city’s public and street lighting with EU directives and the Law on Protection against Light Pollution, setting new standards for lighting management, achieving substantial energy savings, and reducing maintenance costs.

Moreover, the initiative involved relocating public lighting cabinets from transformer substations to more strategic locations, integrating a digital solution for better control and monitoring of public lighting, and implementing smart meters to accurately track electricity consumption.

Control and monitoring system for smart public lighting

Control and monitoring of Omiš’s updated public lighting are powered by the PROZA MARS software IoT platform, a state-of-the-art IIoT system designed for advanced management of urban, critical, and city infrastructures. With its extensive development background, this platform enables continuous, real-time monitoring of critical and urban infrastructure systems.

Tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of Omiš's public lighting, this digital solution provides complete system control, automatic detection and reporting of system irregularities, and efficient maintenance operations.

Additionally, it facilitates the remote monitoring of electricity usage for public lighting, efficient tracking of consumption, and precise calculation of cost savings. 

The system also manages the lighting intensity of groups or individual units within the public lighting network, with automated adjustments based on the natural light conditions, optimizing electricity use and reducing costs further.
