New customer in Austria

We completed generator revitalization at St. Pantaleon HPP for Austria’s electricity company Ennskraftwerke.

In November 2020, we secured our first agreement with Austria’s electricity company Ennskraftwerke, that operates a total of 14 HPPs on the rivers Enns and Steyr. The scope of work is generator revitalization at St. Pantaleon HPP. The two-generator power plant is located near Steyr. One of the 16.7 Hz generators serves the needs of Austrian Railways.

The revitalization was carried out on the 50 Hz G2 manufactured in 1965. The generator scope of the project included two completely new stators and new rotor poles with an increase in generator power from 20 MVA to 22 MVA, 6.3 kV, 125 rpm, and the works also span disassembly, assembly, monitoring, commissioning and training. The turbine contractor delivered a new impeller.

Once works kicked off in late August 2021, they were completed on plan, with commissioning in May 2022.
