Modernization of electric locomotives
Our modernization efforts for locomotives nearing the end of their lifecycle aim to extend their service life by 20 years. By replacing outdated systems with cutting-edge solutions, we enhance efficiency, reduce energy usage, and lower maintenance costs.
Upgrades include installing modern microprocessor devices, video cameras, static converters for main and auxiliary drives, and replacing old wiring. All vital components are thoroughly inspected and repaired as necessary.
Operator comfort is prioritized with the addition of modern displays, air conditioning, and ergonomic seating.
Modernization efforts include:
- Redesigning the driver’s cabin to align with technical, safety, ergonomic, and aesthetic requirements
- Replacing existing main drive inverters with modern inverters
- Installing advanced static converters for auxiliary drives
- Installing a new air compressor system
- Implementing a microprocessor control system for full digitalization
- Installing an energy consumption measurement system compliant with EN50463 standards
Modernization goals:
- Enhance vehicle reliability and availability in operation
- Extend uptime between major repairs
- Reduce operating and maintenance costs
- Optimize traction performance for locomotives
- Implement automatic speed control
- Ensure effective wheel slide protection
- Provide an ergonomic and comfortable workspace for drivers
- Install an energy consumption measurement system compliant with EN50463 standards
