Two major projects secured in the Swedish market
Following extensive negotiations, we successfully secured two significant projects for key customers in the Swedish market.
In August 2023, we reestablished our partnership with Fortum Sverige by signing a contract for the revitalization of the Hermansboda Hydroelectric Plant, our first project with them in three years. The plant, located along the Ljungan River near Ånge, has been in operation since 1962 with two synchronous vertical generators, each rated at 6.5 MVA and running at 166.7 rpm. In response to the deteriorating condition of the current equipment, the customer opted to modernize both units, increasing their capacity to 7.8 MVA. The contract includes designing, producing, and delivering new stators, pole re-insulation, specialized tools, and spare parts, along with the complete disassembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded units.
In early July, Sydkraft Hydropower issued a letter of intent for the revitalization of Generator G2 at the Gulsele Hydroelectric Plant (29.4 MVA, 187.5 rpm), with the contract scheduled for signing in September 2023. Located on the Ångermanälven River near Junsele, the Gulsele plant consists of three units. This contract builds on our ongoing collaboration with Sydkraft, which includes three agreements currently in realization. This demonstrates their continued confidence in our expertise, and we are fully aware of the challenge to deliver high-quality results on schedule to maintain our standing as Sydkraft’s primary generator supplier. The scope of the contract includes assessing the generator for increased turbine capacity, refurbishing critical components, supplying spare parts, as well as handling the disassembly, installation, testing, and commissioning.
We are on track to secure at least two more contracts in the Swedish market by the end of the year. At this time, five proposals are under preparation, with six tenders expected to be published by year-end.
