Successful factory testing and on-time delivery of generators for the Swiss market

In 2020, we partnered with an Austrian turbine supplier to secure a contract for the production and delivery of two horizontal synchronous generators with brushless excitation systems and related equipment for the Augand small hydropower plant (SHPP) in Switzerland. The project was completed as scheduled in September 2022.

The synchronous generators feature a capacity of 5,200 kVA, 6,300 V, and 428.6 rpm. They will be installed side by side in a mirror-symmetrical configuration. Given the limited access routes to the site, the generator design had to be carefully optimized to meet logistical constraints.

Project oversight was provided by BKW Energie, a Swiss company, covering everything from the design phase through production and factory testing. The collaboration with our Austrian partners and BKW engineers was particularly valuable, with continuous exchanges of technical ideas to optimize the electromechanical systems. Special credit goes to our technical office, which, despite the relatively long project duration, successfully navigated all technical requirements and challenges.

We are proud to have delivered a total of five compact generators to this technically demanding and highly specialized market, with three supplied in the last ten months alone. In partnership with Austrian turbine supplier, we remain dedicated to offering electromechanical equipment for small hydropower plants throughout Switzerland.
