Expanding our presence in the global nuclear industry
We have taken a major step forward in the nuclear energy sector by securing a contract with a German partner, whose core expertise lies in maintaining nuclear facilities around the world.
This contract entails the delivery of a high-voltage motor with a power output of 335 kW and a voltage of 6,600 V, designed to drive a feed pump at the Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant, near the city of Lima in Argentina. Securing this contract underscores our expertise in meeting the stringent and highly specific requirements for motors used in such critical applications. The agreement followed several months of negotiations, during which we successfully passed the technical qualification and audit in compliance with KTA 1401, the general nuclear safety standard. Our adherence to KTA 1401 reflects our unwavering commitment to upholding the highest safety and quality standards across all operations, a crucial factor in building trust and ensuring reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
The contract is anticipated to strengthen our partnership and pave the way for additional business opportunities in the supply of asynchronous motors for the nuclear sector, with several projects for 2024 already in the pipeline and at different stages of bidding.
Our involvement in the nuclear sector spans over 40 years, particularly in the maintenance of generators and motors at the Krško Nuclear Power Plant. This includes preventive and corrective maintenance of the main generator, two auxiliary diesel generators, and 36 high-voltage motors, on a regular 18-month schedule. To date, we have delivered 78 high-voltage synchronous generators and asynchronous motors to nuclear power plants worldwide.
