The first MV transformer to be awarded Carbon footprint of products (CFP) verification statement
We are excited to announce that we have completed the manufacturing of an 80 MVA transformer, with a voltage ratio of 132±12×1.53%/68 kV, for a new client in Spain.
This transformer, destined for one of Spain’s leading distribution companies owned by an Italian energy group, was successfully tested at the end of 2021. It will be installed at the Nueva Celulosa Transformer Station, a crucial part of the power grid expansion in the Motril industrial zone of Granada. Given Granada’s major economic activities, including tourism and greenhouse agriculture, the customer requested the installation of a bird protection net around the transformer cooling unit.
This project is particularly noteworthy as it includes the first-ever Product Carbon Footprint (CFP) Verification Statement for our medium power transformers. The transformer successfully passed a rigorous carbon footprint audit conducted by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) in February. In 2021, SGS, in collaboration with us, performed a CFP study according to ISO 14067:2018 standards, which provide the principles, requirements, and guidelines for quantifying and reporting product carbon footprints. This study has empowered us to calculate and effectively reduce the carbon footprint of our products. The ISO 14067 standard is part of the ISO 14060 series, which focuses on the quantification, monitoring, reporting, and validation of greenhouse gas emissions, supporting the sustainability efforts of low-carbon businesses.
We are proud of this milestone and our continuous commitment to sustainability, ensuring that our innovations not only meet the highest industry standards but also contribute to a greener future.
