Designing and construction of a state-of-the-art data centre
The initiative to design and build a contemporary data centre for Odašiljači i Veze began in late 2022. Led by our project team and in partnership with industry leaders, we managed the design, delivery, and installation of essential infrastructure such as cooling systems and fire protection solutions, along with overseeing the setup of IT racks. We also spearheaded the development and integration of an advanced SCADA system to ensure extensive monitoring and management of the data centre. Significant construction efforts were made, including establishing a durable foundation for the external units of the cooling system. The data centre was configured within a versatile, multipurpose facility at the customer's site, modified to adhere to strict safety and reliability standards.
Choosing an onsite (EDGE) data centre model minimized latency, crucial for the real-time operation of vital applications and control systems for critical infrastructure. The micro data centre design, notable for its modularity and compact size, provides adaptability to changing user needs, ease of expansion, and minimal spatial requirements, making it an optimal choice for modern data centre demands.
Cyber-secure SCADA solution for data centres
Central to our data centre management strategy is the PROZA Station DCIM software. This sophisticated solution optimizes data centre operations by enhancing security and operational efficiency, and significantly lowering energy costs. It builds upon the innovative PROZA Station SCADA platform, which is recognized as the first of its kind to be certified globally under the most current cybersecurity standards.
It is important to emphasize that KONČAR's PROZA Station is the first to achieve a cybersecurity certification aligned with the international security standard IEC 62351. The IEC 62351 standard plays a key role in the field of cyber security of critical infrastructure, primarily because it defines the requirements that guarantee the safeguarding of confidentiality, integrity protection and communication authentication. The overarching aim is to enhance the security of remote control systems.
