Power electronics Engineer (m/f)

Responsibilities:

Power Electronics Engineer role includes the development of innovative, cost and reliable power electronic solutions.

Work responsibilities entail:

  • design and development of converters based on Si IGBT or SiC MOSFET technologies
  • designing power electronics circuits, forming the detailed design analysis, selecting power stage and gate-driver circuits, passive components, and electronic parts in order to meet the performance targets
  • performing detailed studies and analysis of the converter systems (including the mechanical, thermal, electrical, and controls architecture) with the emphasis on performance evaluation, component selection and sizing, design optimization, and control strategy development
  • working closely with embedded hardware, embedded software, and mechanical engineers to assign requirements, discussing the trade-offs, performing the design reviews and ensuring a successful integration of the converter design
  • defining the test specifications and procedures, and design validation
  • participating in the development and maintenance of FMEA methods and quality control plans
  • collaboration with manufacturing engineers and suppliers in order to achieve a transition from concepts to production

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering
  • affinity towards power electronics technologies with up to 3 years of experience for junior level or 5 years of professional experience in power electronics for senior position
  • inclination towards self-organized work environment
  • strong analytical capabilities
  • fluency in written and spoken English
  • experience working in a cross-functional environment
  • inclination towards teamwork
  • aptitude in problem solving skills

 

Other skills and knowledge which can you bring closer to this job but are not mandatory:

  • aptitude in working with the PLECS tool for system-level simulations of electrical circuits
  • familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink-based graphical programming
  • having grasp of engineering standards for railway and renewable energy application
  • aptitude in working with PCB design, processors, integrated circuits and passive components
  • familiarity with ePlan electrical or similar software for schematic diagrams
